The Anambra State, Deputy Governor, Dr. OnyekaChukwu Ibezim who doubled as the Chairman of the State Boundary alongside with Hon. Ekenechukwu Okoye, and Hon. C.C Chukwudi recently held meeting between the representatives of each community at government house, Awka.
Speaking during the meeting, Dr. Ibezim described boundary disputes as man made which could be resolved. He expressed dismay over the absence of representatives from Okpaeze, stating that, they are one and need to constantly remind themselves and their people of this indisputable fact.
While urging them to submit all the documents and evidences related to the boundary, he said, if they employ truth and have the courage to confront the facts, the dispute will be resolved easily.
He added that, Governor Charles Soludo’s administration is committed in resolving any dispute in the state, and every activity in the boundary will not be permitted until further notice.
Responding, the Traditional Ruler of Amaetiti, Igwe R.N. Nkala appreciated Anambra State Government for the quick intervention and the effort to resolve the over 40 years boundary dispute, stating that they will accept the decision of the government.
