Senator Natasha Akpoti – Uduaghan (PDP Kogi Central), has condemned the recent violent attacks in a community in Omala Local Government Area (LGA) of Kogi state, where at least 25 people lost their lives.
She equally called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun to take immediate action to restore normalcy to the troubled communities just as she offered her condolences to the families of those who have lost their loved ones as a result of the crisis.
Reacting to the incident which happened on Thursday last week, Senator Natasha called for thorough investigation into the remote causes of the crisis that led to the unwarranted killing of innocent citizens by emphasising the need for the security agencies to go after the masterminds of the heinous crime.
She also urged both the state and federal governments to intervene immediately to prevent any further escalation of the crisis and appealed to people of the affected community, to join forces with the police to identify the criminals and bring them to justice.
Criminally minded people had on Thursday, carried out the dastardly acts in two communities, Agojeju Odo and Abejukolo in Omala LGA of the state.
