The Chairman of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria South East, Lady Ada Chukwudozie, has advised the Tinubu government to subsidize the cost of raw materials for manufacturers. She also called for the provision of incentives and solutions to address the challenges they face.
Lady Chukwudozie made these appeals at a stakeholders’ engagement forum and the unveiling of the MANSA Export Trade Platform by AFREXIM Bank. The event, organized by the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), took place at the MAN liaison office in Anambra. The theme of the event was “Access to Finance & Cheaper Funding for SMEs in Nigeria.”
In addition, Lady Chukwudozie praised Anambra State Governor Prof Charles Soludo for signing a Memorandum of Understanding with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN). This agreement will provide access to funds for increased production.
According to Lady Chukwudozie, reducing the cost of acquiring raw materials for manufacturers will boost output, leading to economic growth for both the manufacturers and the country.
She emphasized the importance of providing incentives to manufacturers, as increased production leads to job creation, wealth generation, and an improved economy. This, in turn, can help reduce inflation and strengthen the Naira against the dollar.
