Global Outrage Greets Attack On Russia Which Claimed Over 60 Lives

President Xi Jinping of China has sent his “condolences” to Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin over the Crocus City Hall attack.

Xi “stressed that China opposes all form of terrorism, strongly condemns the terrorist attack and firmly supports the Russian government’s efforts to safeguard its national security and stability”, it said.

India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi meanwhile condemned the “heinous terrorist attack”, adding in a post on Twitter/X that his country stood “in solidarity with the government and the people of the Russian Federation in this hour of grief”.

More than 100 others were wounded at the Crocus City Hall

In the deadliest attack in Russia since the 2004 Beslan school siege, gunmen sprayed civilians with bullets just before rock group “Picnic” was to perform to a full house at the 6,200-seat the Crocus City Hall just west of the capital.


Verified video showed people taking their seats in the hall, then rushing for the exits as repeated gunfire echoed above screams. Other video showed men shooting at groups of people. Some victims lay motionless in pools of blood.


In the 2004 Beslan school siege, Islamist militants took more than 1,000 people, including hundreds of children, hostage.
