Professor Chukwuma Soludo, the Governor of Anambra State, is planning to reshuffle his cabinet in the near future, which has caused tension among commissioners and other government aides.
According to a reliable source within the government, the governor intends to bring in fresh talent during the second half of his term for sociopolitical reasons.
The source, who wishes to remain anonymous due to lack of authorization to speak on the matter, mentioned that even during the initial appointments of the current commissioners and aides, they were informed that their tenure would be based on their performance.
Our source also revealed, “Soludo is determined to achieve maximum results for the people of Anambra. Therefore, nonperforming commissioners and aides will not continue in their positions. New individuals will be brought in to enhance productivity as the second term bid approaches.”
“Furthermore, you’re aware that there will be a governorship election in the state next year. This election will require the appointment of seasoned politicians to the cabinet and other strategic roles, rather than technocrats as it currently stands. So, many changes will occur, and many individuals will be replaced.”
However, attempts to confirm this story with the governor’s press secretary, Mr. Christian Aburime, were unsuccessful as calls to his phone went unanswered.
Meanwhile, Soludo has reiterated his administration’s commitment to fulfilling its promises to the people of Anambra. The governor expressed this during the Pontifical Mass of Thanksgiving held to commemorate the two years of his administration.
Despite limited resources, the governor emphasized that his administration remains dedicated and passionate about rebuilding the state and restoring its position of pride among other states in the country. This commitment is reflected in the prioritization of the administration’s five cardinal agenda, which includes security, infrastructure and economic development, human capital development, social agenda, and environmental initiatives.
He concluded by stating that his administration has finalized the process of assembling a capable team to drive these objectives forward.
