Champions League: Bayern Seek To Overturn One Goal Deficit Against Lazio

Bayern Munich’s hopes of lifting a piece of silverware this season may rest on Tuesday’s Champions League round of 16 second leg clash with Lazio at Allianz Arena.

Currently ten points behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen on the domestic front after taking just four points from their last four Bundesliga games, and having gone out of the DFB-Pokal in the second round, a seventh European crown is now the most likely success for Thomas Tuchel’s team.

Bayern will have to overcome a one-goal deficit to reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League for a fifth successive season.

The Bavarian club has gone out of the competition the last seven times they have lost the first leg of a tie, although Harry Kane’s six goals in Europe this season should give the home side hope.

Lazio’s recent form has also been poor, losing three of the four Serie A matches they have played since beating Bayern, while the team picked up three red cards in Friday’s 1-0 defeat to AC Milan.

The match comes up tonight at the Allianz Arena
