The Industry Commissioner of Anambra State, Hon Christian Udechukwu, has announced that the state government has initiated plans to establish economic ties and investment relationships with Indonesia, while also opening doors to bilateral travel.
During the “2nd International Forum of Higher Education, Industry, Government Partnership Meeting and Education Expo” hosted by Anambra-Indonesia Industrial Partnership Development, Commissioner Udechukwu highlighted the unique opportunity for Nigeria, especially Anambra, to strengthen its industrial development.
He emphasized the similarities between Indonesia and Nigeria, such as their large populations, with Indonesia estimated at around 275 million and Nigeria at about 260 million.
The commissioner expressed interest in participating in the program to learn about the opportunities for Indonesian companies to contribute to infrastructure development in Nigeria, particularly in Anambra state. He mentioned specific areas like oil and gas, palm oil, coconut, rice, soybeans, sugar, and corn.
Commissioner Udechukwu also highlighted the importance of Indonesia’s experience in food development, which led to higher food sufficiency. He expressed the desire to benefit from Indonesia’s research, development, and investment policies to address Nigeria’s current food security challenges.
