Ebonyi State Government Partners with AMURT Foundation to Improve Healthcare Services In Rural Communities

Sharing is caring

The Ebonyi State Government has reaffirmed its commitment to improving healthcare services in rural communities by strengthening its partnership with the Ananda Marga Universal Relief Team (AMURT) Foundation. This collaboration aims to address the primary healthcare needs of the people, particularly in maternal and child health services.

In a recent meeting held at the state office, the Global Director of AMURT Foundation, along with their dedicated team, was warmly received by the government officials. The partnership between the state government and AMURT Foundation aligns with the vision outlined in The People’s Charter of Needs, which prioritizes the well-being of the people and the improvement of healthcare services.

Recognizing the valuable contributions of AMURT Foundation in providing essential healthcare services to rural communities in Ebonyi State and beyond, the government has taken the step to integrate their workers into the State Civil Service. This ensures that even if AMURT ceases operations in the communities, the dedicated healthcare workers will continue to serve the people, and the healthcare facilities will remain functional.

In a further effort to support the medical professionals working in general hospitals, the government has directed the inclusion of a relief allowance of N150,000.00 in their salaries. This allowance will assist the doctors in covering expenses such as fuel for their cars and other miscellaneous bills, enabling them to provide uninterrupted healthcare services to the people.

The partnership between the Ebonyi State Government and AMURT Foundation signifies a shared commitment to improving the healthcare landscape in rural communities.

By working together, they aim to ensure that every individual, especially women and children, has access to quality healthcare services, ultimately saving lives and promoting the well-being of the people.

This collaboration serves as a testament to the government’s dedication to addressing healthcare challenges and creating a healthier future for all residents of Ebonyi State.
