The matriarch of the Yar’adua family, Hajia Dada, has passed away at the remarkable age of 102.
She was the mother of former Nigerian President Umaru Musa Yar’adua, as well as late Shehu Musa Yar’adua and Senator Abdulaziz Musa Yar’adua, the current Chairman of the Senate Committee on Army.
Hajia Dada’s passing occurred on Monday at the Federal Teaching Hospital in Katsina after a brief illness.
The family will announce burial arrangements at a later time.
Her son, Umaru Musa Yar’adua, served as President of Nigeria from 2007 until his untimely death in May 2010.
Prior to his presidency, he was the Governor of Katsina State from 1999 to 2007.
Hajia Dada’s legacy lives on through her children and grandchildren, who have made significant contributions to Nigerian politics and society.
Her remarkable life and longevity will be remembered and celebrated by the Yar’adua family and the nation.
