The Police in Borno state has begun investigation into the death of a lecturer at the University of Maiduguri
The lecturer Dr. Abdulkadir Kamar, of the Department of Physical and Health Education was found dead in his office at the university.
Unconfirmed reports say Abdulkadir was killed on Sunday when some yet-to-be-identified assailants sneaked into his office and attacked him with a knife and hammer.
The report says the killers carted away his vehicle and other valuables
The University’s Director, of Radio and Public Relations, Danjuma Gambo, confirmed this on Monday night
Gambo urged staff and students of the institution to remain calm and go about their normal, legitimate businesses while also assuring parents, guardians, and other stakeholders of the safety of the wards, adding that the campus remains safe and secure for teaching, learning, and community service.
