The Registrar in charge of the University of Ibadan, in Oyo State has denied the discovery of a fake professor in the institution.
The institution said this in a statement made available to the media on Sunday, following a list of fake professors in some universities that went viral on social media on Saturday.
The University in a statement signed by its Registrar Ganiyu Saliu, noted that the University will not compromise its standard.
He stated that none of the fake professors were on the calendar of the University.
The institution enjoined members of the public to disregard the list saying;
“The University would never jeopardise the integrity of its academic programmes by parading fake professors.
“The management of the University of Ibadan read with dismay the baseless story making the rounds that some fake professors were identified in the University.
“The management categorically states that none of the listed Professors have ever been listed as staff of the University.
“Bi-ennially, the University of Ibadan publishes its Calendar wherein all the names of bona-fide academic staff are listed. These names are not on the Calendar.
