The Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Anambra State chapter, has called on the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, to investigate the alleged invasion of Maureen Madu Kiddies Football Academy in Ozubulu, Ekwusigo LGA, by security personnel.
Maureen Madu, a decorated Super Falcons star, claims that operatives suspected to be from the Anti-Cult Unit Ukpo stormed her academy, beat players, seized their phones, and took her away in handcuffs.
She said it was a case of a parent who handed over his daughter to her for summer coaching and later levelled allegations of armed gangsterism, attempted child trafficking, and threat to life against her.
In a statement Issued to Journalists, “SWAN Anambra, led by Chairman Chimezie Anaso and Secretary Uche Ndeke, urged the police to investigate and ensure justice for all parties involved.
