Soludo Celebrates The Elderly, Vulnerable And Disabled, Eulogize Arthur Eze At 75

Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Charles Soludo says his government will continue to formulate policies for the weak and vulnerable in the state.

Governor Soludo gave the assurance during Inter-denominational service organized by the state government to celebrate the elderly, vulnerable, and people living with disabilities, as well as the 75th birthday of Prince Engr. Arthur Eze.


The event was held at the Emmaus House in Awka.

In his speech, Governor Soludo praised Engr. Eze for living a life of service to the poor and vulnerable, saying that he has lived a life of impact, charity, philanthropy, as unto God.

Governor Soludo stated that his government is intentional about leaving no one behind, which is why his policies are largely for the poor.

He noted that his government kicked off with infrastructural development at Okpoko, saying that he is committed to bringing light, development, and hope to the poor, especially those in three local governments of Ogbaru, Anambra West, and Awka North.


To further support the poor and vulnerable, Governor Soludo announced that his government will be distributing 300,000 bags of 10kg rice and 18,000 bags of 15kg rice to all the poor and vulnerable people in the 326 wards in the state.

He also said that his government will start building a major project called the Anambra Old People’s Homes, where old people who have no one to take care of them can come and be cared for, saying that one of the buildings in the complex will be named after Dr. Arthur Eze as a legacy project in his name.

The Governor thanked the church for their support and noted that he loves the spirit of ecumenism that is being promoted in Anambra State, stressing that the body of Christ is one.

Earlier in a sermon, the Archbishop, Province on the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Alexander Ibezim, applauded the Governor for being a fatherly figure in carrying all arms government along.

Archbishop Ibezim also lauded the Governor for the numerous road constructions in the state.

While celebrating Engr. Eze, he reminded the philanthropist that he still have more assignments on earth, such as changing lives and addressing political issues.

For his part, Engr. Arthur Eze, expressed gratitude to Governor Soludo especially the developmental strides of his government. He also expressed shock at the number of people who came to celebrate him and thanked them all for their presence.

Deputy Governor of Anambra State, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, Speaker, Anambra House of Assembly, Rt Hon. Somtochukwu Udeze, Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Solo Chukwulobelu, Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, Chief of Protocol, Chinedu Nwoye Glamour, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs. Ify Obinabo, Sen. Tony Nwoye, Chairman Anambra State Disability Right Commission, Barr. Chuks Ezewuzie, State Chairman of APGA, Mr. Ifeatu Obiokoye, Transition Committee Chairmen, Presidents – General, Traditional Rulers, among others, attended the event.
