There is currently heavy shooting in Rumuepirikom Community, the home of the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Wike.
According to a source, earlier in the day, some people came into the area and warned residents not to come out for the elections.
It was reported that just as election officials were about to arrive at a ward in the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, armed bandits also showed up.
These unidentified gunmen, firing heavily, took control of the area, frightening residents and preventing them from participating in the election.
It was also reported that one person was injured by a bullet and has been taken to a hospital for treatment.
