Rivers APC Crisis: Court Judgment Not Binding – NWC

Sharing is caring

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has stated that it is not bound by the Rivers High Court judgment that reinstated the dissolved Chief Emeke Beke-led State Executive Committee.

The party claims it was not a party to the suit and therefore is not affected by the judgment.

The APC’s Deputy National Secretary, Festus Fuanter, explained that Beke had previously been removed by another court and had filed an appeal but chose not to await its outcome, instead engaging in an abuse of court processes.

The party recognizes only the Tony Okocha-led Rivers Caretaker Committee, established to oversee its affairs in the state.

The APC’s National Working Committee (NWC) has scheduled its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting for September 12, subject to the approval of President Bola Tinubu.

He added that the NWC discussed the issue and agreed that the party’s Caucus will meet on September 11 ahead of its NEC meeting
