Peter Obi’s Team Dismisses 2027 Presidential Campaign Poster

The Peter Obi Media Reach (POMR) has categorically denied the authenticity of a 2027 presidential campaign poster circulating online, featuring Peter Obi and Bukola Saraki.

In a statement POMR spokesman Yunusa Tanko dismissed the poster as a mere product of people’s imagination.

According to Tanko, there is no truth to the poster, and no hint of a presidential run has been made by Obi or his team. He emphasized that their focus remains on working for the good of the people.

The poster in question shows Saraki, a former Senate President and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the presidential candidate, with Obi, the former Labour Party presidential candidate, as his running mate. The caption reads, “Let’s restore our country back, come 2027.”

Notably, both Saraki and Obi have not officially declared any intention to contest the 2027 presidential election. Obi had defected from the PDP to the Labour Party during the build-up to the 2023 presidential election.

The denial by POMR raises questions about the origin and purpose of the poster, which has sparked speculation and debate among political observers and supporters.
