The Nigeria Governors’ Forum is currently holding a meeting in Abuja, the nation’s capital.
The meeting, which is taking place at the NGF secretariat, has all governors from the 36 states of the federation in attendance
Some of the governors at the meeting venue, including Lawal Dauda of Zamfara, Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau, Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta, and Alex Otti of Abia.
While governors of Enugu and Borno States, Peter Mbah and Babagana Zulum, respectively, sent their deputies to represent them.
Although the agenda of the meeting is not publicly disclosed, it is expected that the governors will discuss critical issues affecting the nation. These include the recent approval of a N70,000 minimum wage by President Bola Tinubu, the Supreme Court judgment on local government autonomy, and the planned nationwide protest against bad governance.
As the meeting commences, the governors are expected to put aside their political differences and work towards finding solutions to the pressing challenges facing the nation.
