N200m Ransom: Uncertainty About Safety of Onyeze Jesus As Deadline Expires

Sharing is caring

What would be better described as uncertainty is currently trailing the condition and safety of famous Anambra-born spiritual leader, Onyebuchi Okocha (popularly known as Onyeze Jesus), following the demand of a whopping sum of two hundred million naira (₦200,000,000) as ransom for his release by his captors.

According to reports, the demand, which is coming barely one month after the unidentified armed men kidnapped the popular spiritual leader, was made when the kidnappers contacted Onye Eze’s sister, and also allowed him to briefly speak with her, confirming that he is still alive.

It was also gathered that the kidnappers threatened to kill and deliver in corpse if the ransom was not paid by the deadline, which was yesterday, Saturday, October 5, 2024.

However, following the expiration of the deadline for the ransom payment (yesterday), there is wave of uncertainty as to the current condition of Onyeze and his safety status, with regards to his captivity in the hands of the kidnappers.

Also, as at the time of filing this report, no update has yet been given by his family regarding his captivity, release, or general condition.

It would be recalled that Onyeze Jesus, who is the Founder and Spiritual Director of the Children of Light Anointing Ministries, Nkpor, in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State, was kidnapped on Wednesday, September 4 at Nkpor.

He was said to have been kidnapped in his Venza on his way from an event, when his captors intercepted him, chased out the second person in the car and zoomed off with him (Onyeze) and his vehicle.

When contacted by this reporter, the Spokesperson of the Anambra State Police Command, SP Ikenga Tochukwu, said there was no such information before the Command.
