Over 1000 members of All Progressives Congress(APC), earlier today defected to All Progressives Grand Alliance(APGA) and pledged their unalloyed support for Governor Charles Soludo and APGA.
The defectors, led by Mrs Uju Ikebuaka(Agbadanweze), who is the women leader of All Progressive Congress(APC), in Obosi.
Speaking during the meeting, Mrs Ikebuaka said, they have suffered a great deal in the hand of APC before concluding that they are not following the party again, stating that they are not comfortable with their government.
Earlier in his welcome speech, the Commissioner for Works, Engr. Ifeanyi Okoma appreciated the defectors for coming back home, stating that APGA is our own.
He said, immediately Governor Charles Soludo CFR took the mantle of leadership, he started working and in just two years, he has constructed many roads, renovated and upgraded healthcare centre, declared free education and free antenatal and delivery services, stating that he is making the state the envy of other states.
Welcoming the defectors on behalf of Anambra State APGA Chairman, Hon. Stanley Nkwoka who was in company of the Deputy Candidate of APGA, Lady Phina Onwuachu, congratulated the defectors for taking the bold step, stating that they took the right decision. He promised to always carry them along.
Also that defected to APGA were members of Solution for Good Governance and Obosi Urban women led by Assistant women leader, Mrs Chigozie Edeh.
Highlight of the meeting was sharing of party cards and party uniforms to defectors.
The meeting was attended by APGA candidate for Idemili North local government area, Hon. Chief Stanley Nkwoka(Ochendo), Deputy APGA candidate for Idemili North, Lady Phina Onwuachu(Mmaluluno), Chief JCJ Onwuachu, Dr. Law Mgbakaogu, Obosi ward APGA councillor candidate, Zik, local government APGA Chairman, local and ward executives and many others.
