In a shocking turn of events, Mrs. Ebere Okeke, Women Leader of the Oga-Ndi-Oga Solidarity Movement, testified in an Ihiala High Court about the alleged involvement of Chukwudi Odimegwu and Maxwell Nwokolo in the kidnapping of Mr. Obiorah Agbasimalo, the Governorship Candidate of the Labour Party during the 2021 Anambra State elections.
On September 18, 2021, Mr. Obiorah Agbasimalo was abducted while returning from a ceremony in Lilu, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State. Despite extensive efforts, his whereabouts remain unknown to this day. The accused individuals, Chukwudi Odimegwu and Maxwell Nwokolo, are currently standing trial in a Suit No.HIH/15C/22 at the Ihiala High Court for their alleged involvement in the conspiracy and kidnapping.
Earlier, the Department of State Services (DSS) had arraigned the suspects before a Magistrate court in Awka, the state capital, in 2022. They were charged with conspiracy and kidnapping. However, the accused were remanded in prison custody without entering a plea.
According to the DSS, on September 18, 2021, in Lilu, Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State, the accused individuals attacked Mr. Obiorah Agbasimalo, causing his disappearance.
