The Factional National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa, today stated that Governor Soludo has done what no other governor has done for Onitsha South, the entire Onitsha, and Anambra State. Ezeokenwa highlighted that in just over two years, Governor Soludo has executed more than ten road projects and numerous infrastructural developments in Onitsha, while also making historic appointments of residents from Onitsha South. Ezeokenwa, himself the first commissioner from Onitsha South before becoming APGA National Chairman, pointed out the appointment of Beverly Ikemdiche Ikpeazu as commissioner, alongside other key appointments, which had never happened in the history of Onitsha South.

Ezeokenwa made these statements while speaking today at the flag-off of the campaign for APGA and their candidate for Chairmanship, Chief Emeka Orji (Oba), Deputy Chairman, Hon. Onyebuchi Obi, and the 17 ward councillors in the local government area for the forthcoming Anambra State Local Government Election, slated for Saturday, September 28, in his home local government of Onitsha South. Barr. Ezeokenwa’s leadership and active involvement in Onitsha South have invigorated party supporters and energized the local political scene. Ezeokenwa also emphasized that APGA is not distracted by the activities of impostors like Edozie Njoku, who he said are merely loitering around the Supreme Court and engaging in foolishness.

Ezeokenwa, known for his exceptional leadership, urged voters in Onitsha South to not only support APGA candidates but also continue their unwavering backing of Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s administration. He praised Soludo’s efforts in transforming Anambra State, especially in infrastructural development, economic reforms, and youth empowerment programs. Ezeokenwa emphasized that supporting APGA would allow Soludo to further deliver on his promises.

“Governor Soludo has brought significant changes, from road construction to initiatives like the ‘1 Youth, 2 Skills’ program. We must maintain this momentum by voting for APGA in the local elections,” Ezeokenwa said, stressing that the continuity of these development programs depended on APGA’s victory.

At the campaign, Hon. Beverly Ikemdiche Ikpeazu, the Commissioner for Special Duty and former House member representing Onitsha South, threw her full support behind Chief Emeka Orji and the 17 councilors, urging voters to back them for continued development in the region. She emphasized that APGA’s leadership at the local level would bolster Soludo’s efforts to uplift the state.

Hon. Anthonia Tabansi-Okoye (Adadiogo), member of the Local Government Service Commission and a former State Assembly member, also expressed her confidence in the party’s candidates, declaring, “Chief Emeka Orji will bring great development to Onitsha South, and we must stand behind him for the future of our local government.”

Chief Uche Umennakaenyi (Ochiagha), the APGA Chairman in Onitsha South, echoed these sentiments, calling on all APGA loyalists to ensure a clean sweep in the elections. Raphael Esione, Chairman of Bida Road Market Association, similarly endorsed Orji and the APGA councilor candidates, stressing the importance of continuity in governance.

Chief Afam Udeogalanya (Agbalanze), Chairman Housing Estate Community 1 and Deputy Chairman of APGA Onitsha South, also declared his full backing for Chief Orji and the APGA ticket, urging residents to vote overwhelmingly for the party.

Further endorsements came from various market leaders in Onitsha South. Chief Nelson Ojukwu (Nwakaibeya na Ideani), former Chairman of Ochannja Market, called on all traders to support APGA. Hon. Paschal Adiliege (Urban), High Chief Hon. Emmanuel A. Nabuchi (National), Chief Bonaventure Nluo (B Moore, Omekaodimma), Chairman of Ochannja Central Market, Chief Emmanuel Idokoh, Chairman of Haruna Street Traders Association, Hon. Benji Akudo, Chairman of Ogboogwu Market, Hon. Mbamalu Emeka (Isimili Mbaukwu), Chairman of Sokoto Road Market Association, and many other market chairmen in Onitsha South also lent their voices in rallying behind Chief Emeka Orji.

The market leaders affirmed their belief that APGA’s candidates would bring continued prosperity to Onitsha South, ensuring that the progress made under Governor Soludo’s administration remains intact. They stressed the need for all traders and businesspeople in Onitsha South to vote en masse for APGA candidates in the local government elections.

The campaign event was marked by a massive turnout of party members, candidates, several key APGA stakeholders, and local residents in Onitsha South.

As the election date draws near, APGA’s campaign, led by Ezeokenwa, has gained significant momentum in Onitsha South. With strong backing from market associations, political leaders, and community representatives, APGA is poised for victory in the elections. Ezeokenwa remains confident that the party will not only secure victories in entire wards in Onitsha South but across Anambra State, further cementing APGA’s position as the leading political force in Anambra State.
