Sharing is caring

Plateau State Governor, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has reiterated his administration’s steadfast commitment to strengthening security across the state to ensure the safety of lives and property. He emphasized that security remains a top priority as his government strives to fulfill its social contract with the people of Plateau State.

The Governor also declared that the Irish potato produced in the state will henceforth be known as “Plateau Potato”, This, he said, is a strategic move aimed at rebranding and promoting Plateau State’s agricultural economy on a global scale.

Governor Mutfwang made these remarks while fellowshipping with congregants at COCIN LCC Rayfield during the celebration of Pastor’s Day. He called for greater unity among Christians, urging the church to take the lead in fostering unity by breaking down denominational barriers.

He expressed gratitude to the people of Plateau for their steadfast support and reassured them that, with divine guidance, his administration would overcome the developmental challenges confronting the state.*l

“We must pray fervently because God answers prayers. I stand here today as a testimony to His faithfulness. If not for the Lord, I would not be standing before you. I understand that many families are experiencing hardship, but I assure you, though sorrow may endure for a night, joy comes in the morning. There are better days ahead. God is our refuge and ever-present help in times of need, and He will not forsake us.”

He noted the progress made in addressing Plateau’s long-standing security challenges and reaffirmed his faith that, by God’s grace, lasting peace and stability would be fully restored.

“Plateau is on the path to full restoration, reclaiming its rightful place as the Home of Peace and Tourism. We will not relent in our efforts until we see the complete transformation of our dear state. We are called Plateau for a reason. God has placed us here for greatness, and soon, the nations of the earth will recognize Plateau for what it truly is.”

Governor Mutfwang further emphasized his administration’s dedication to tackling poverty by revitalizing the agricultural sector. He announced the adoption of modern farming technologies as a key economic driver to improve productivity and combat food insecurity.

“We are committed to lifting Plateau to a level of prosperity where other nations will desire to come and partake of God’s blessings in this land. As part of our agricultural transformation, we have officially rebranded the Irish potato as Plateau Potato. In addition, next month, we will commence the reconstruction of the Abattoir to further boost our agro-economy.”

The guest preacher, Dr. (Mrs.) Justina Damap, GCC Coordinator of COCIN Women’s Fellowship, delivered a sermon titled “The Head of the Church”, drawing from Ephesians 5:21-24. She highlighted the importance of love and submission in building strong marriages, emphasizing that a Christ-centered relationship is key to a peaceful and prosperous home.

“A woman who is humble, trustworthy, appreciative, respectful, and peaceful will enjoy a marriage filled with joy and divine prosperity,” she stated.
