In the wake of the unfortunate fire incidents that recently affected the communities of Ojaiya/Ita-Amodu, the Chairman of Ilorin West Local Government Council, Honourable Shehu Abdulrahman Babatunde Ladan has visited the affected areas to offer support and assess the extent of the damage.
Before now, the Chairman sent his delegates of council officials, Rt. Hon Speaker, Honourable Yusuf Ajia Ole led legislative members, LG Development officer Hon Abdulfatai Ajia, Engr. A.O Oba, others to sympathize with the affected residents around the community.
During his visit, the Chairman, alongside Honourable Tijani Abdulhameed, and Councilor Badari Ward, expressed heartfelt sympathies to the victims and their families, acknowledging the significant losses they have suffered. He emphasized the council’s commitment to standing with the residents during this challenging time.
“The loss of properties caused by these fire outbreaks is a tragedy for everyone in our community. As a government, we are deeply concerned and are prepared to provide the necessary support to help those affected recover,” he stated.
In addition to assuring the residents of immediate relief, the Chairman pledged outstanding support, including material aid and financial assistance, to help mitigate the impact of the disaster. He further directed relevant local government agencies to expedite the assessment process and ensure that relief reaches the victims promptly.
He also highlighted plans to collaborate with fire service agencies to raise awareness of fire safety measures, ensuring such incidents are minimized in the future in Ilorin West.
The affected residents hosted by Alhaji Salihu Hussain, Alangua Badari expressed gratitude for the Chairman’s visit and the promised assistance, emphasizing the importance of swift action to help rebuild their lives.
The Chairman called on well-meaning individuals, organizations, and government partners to join hands in providing relief and support to the victims, underscoring the importance of community solidarity in times of crisis.
