Anambra State Road Traffic Management Agency Suspends Three Female Officers Over Physical Brawl

The Anambra State Road Traffic Management Agency (ARTMA) has suspended three female officers caught on camera engaging in a physical altercation with a police traffic personnel at Aroma Junction, Awka.

The incident, which occurred over a monetary dispute, has sparked widespread condemnation on social media.

In a press statement, ARTMA’s Managing Director and CEO, Emeka Okonkwo, expressed regret over the incident, stating that it does not reflect the agency’s standards and values.

The suspended officers will face further disciplinary measures.

Okonkwo assured the public that ARTMA remains committed to maintaining order and ensuring effective road and traffic management in Anambra State.

He added that the agency will continue to uphold its standards and values, despite this isolated incident.

The incident involved four female traffic officers, including three ARTMA officials and one police traffic officer, who were filmed exchanging punches over a monetary dispute while still in their uniforms.

The footage, which went viral on social media, showed the officers fighting in the middle of the road, causing gridlock and attracting a large crowd.”
