Anambra Governor Orders prosecution Of Rapist

The Governor of Anambra State, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, has ordered the prosecution of a middle-aged man identified as Onuora. He is currently in police custody at the Inland Town Police Division in Onitsha for allegedly raping a schoolgirl in the Onitsha area of Anambra State.

According to reports, the suspect was apprehended at the Ado Girls Secondary School, Onitsha, by security operatives who had been tracking him. A police officer revealed that the suspect had been known to lay in wait near schools, targeting his victims.

Following the suspect’s arrest, Governor Chukwuma Soludo has demanded that the suspected rapist be immediately remanded at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Awka.

The governor, through the Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh, expressed his strong disapproval of such a heinous act and pledged to use all legal means to ensure the perpetrator is brought to justice, hoping that this will serve as a deterrent to others.

The commissioner also urged the people of Anambra State to speak out against such despicable acts. Let’s stand together against these abhorrent crimes.
