— Imo Speaker, Chike Olemgbe Charges Elder Statesmen.

The Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Chike Olemgbe has charged all pensionable elder statesmen in the 27 local government areas of the state to respond massively for enrollment into Governor Hope Uzodimma-intiated ImoCare Health Insurance programme for local and state pensioners of Imo state origin.

In a press statement endorsed by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Peter Uwa, enrollment for all verified pensioners would take place in every local government secretariat across the three senatorial districts with the pensioners being physically present for the exercise.

Urging all concerned not to ignore this golden opportunity of getting enrolled for special medical attention, Rt Hon Chike Olemgbe observed that the state government under the watch of Governor Hope Uzodimma places high premium on the well-being of elder statesmen who according to him, contributed greatly to overall development and and growth of the state.

Speaker Chike Olemgbe pointed out that paying attention to the health needs of the aged in the society, particularly, those that rendered selfless service to the society in their youthful age as public or civil servants, is an attribute of a government piloted by a responsible leader.

Commending the state governor, Senator Dr Hope Uzodimma for having the well-being of elder statesmen in the state top in his priority list, Chike Olemgbe described the ImoCare Health Insurance Programme initiated by the governor as a laudable venture.
