Abia State Government has reconstituted its Service Compact (SERVICOM), units, in all the MDAs, with a charge to confront headlong all manner of unethical behaviours, indiscipline and other vices inimical to the Reform agenda of the present administration led by Governor Alex Otti.
The State Head of Service, Dr. Mrs. Ngozi Queen Obioma, while reconstituting the SERVICOM committee, in her office complex, according to a release made available to newsmen in Umuahia by Mrs Adaeze Ralph Igbokwe, Director of Information, charged the members to rise up to the challenges of fighting corruption in the Service, nonchalance, lateness to work, truancy, and general insensitivity prevalent in the present day service.
Abia Head of Service who recalled that SERVICOM was established by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, to add value and restore Public confidence
in the government and its Institutions, admonished them to closely monitor every aspect of the Public Service in MDAS, with a view to ensuring excellence and professionalism, through a timely, transparent, accountable and improved service delivery.
Dr. Mrs. Obioma observed with dismay the erosion of the guiding principles of the Service, such as commitment, loyalty, honesty and integrity asserted that government expects a drastic turn around from our negative behaviours, to ensure a proactive and egalitarian Public
Service.
The number one (1) Civil Servant, who called on the SERVICOM OFFICERS, to employ the feedback mechanism also enjoined them to strictly adhere to the public service Rules/extant Laws while discharging their duties warning that her office, will not condone any act of intimidation or compromise.

In his response on behalf of other members of the Committee, Elder Ukaegbu Ihuoma of the Ministry of Education, who assured their preparedness to justify the confidence reposed on them, made it clear that there will be no sacred cow, in the cause of their duties and solicited government assistance and protection.
