Abia State Chapter of the National Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) has condemned cruel act and brutality of one Miss Adaeze Chinweoke of the Federal Government Girl’s College (FGGC) who bit off the tongue of a fellow student, Amarachi Chibueze at the weekend during a fight in their class over food.

Reacting to the ugly incident, the Abia NAWOJ in a statement signed by the Chair person Comrade Josephine Ogwo said Adaeze and her parents should be prosecuted for the wicked and inhuman act.

Comrade Ogwo described the action of Adaeze as barbaric, stressing that she should not have strangled and bitten off the tongue of Amarachi no matter the level of provocation.

According to them, the ugly incident has brought to the fore the poor feeding arrangement in the school, noting that if the students are adequately fed, Adaeze would not have eaten the food of Amarachi in the first instance.

The Association wondered why the Principal of the school took Amarachi to a private hospital instead of the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia where the victim of thbeastility will receive proper medical attention and care.

The Abia NAWOJ chair person stressed the need for parents to give good home training to their children, pointing out that the students would not have engaged in physical brawl if they had proper upbringing.
