The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Anambra State is teaming up with the Kimpact Development Initiative (KDI) to improve election security ahead of the state’s governorship poll on November 8.
It disclosed this on Wednesday in a statement signed by its spokesperson, Edwin Okadigbo.
The development followed a visit by KDI to the corps and Anambra Zone 13 Ukpo, aimed at strengthening collaboration and addressing threats before election day.
The NSCDC State Commandant, Maku Olatunde, emphasised the relevance of data for the election monitoring, which the KDI offers.
He was represented by Deputy Commandant Akaachia Godwin.
However, the representative of the Zone 13 ASP Aware Emmanuel, said all request by Kimpact Development Initiative, KDI, will be fully attend to and have assured the initiative of their full support to combat violence”. He said.
Olatunde noted that reliable data on election monitoring from independent firms like the KDI would mitigate the risk of violence.
