Zamfara Governor Denies Appointing Suspected Terrorist as Special Adviser, Calls Letter ‘Forged

Sharing is caring

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has denied appointing suspected terrorist and gunrunner, Bashir Hadejia, as a Special Adviser in his government.

Hadejia was arrested last week over alleged treason and subversion against the state.

A letter purportedly signed by the Secretary to the Zamfara State Government, Mal Abubakar M. Nakwada, had surfaced online, alleging that the state government offered an appointment to Hadejia.

However, Governor Lawal dismissed the letter as fake during an interview.

The governor emphasized his administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability, stating that there is nothing to hide.

He also addressed the security challenges in the state, claiming that insecurity has greatly reduced, allowing farmers to return to their farms.

The state government is working closely with the National Security Adviser and the Ministry of Defence to address the security issues.
