The national secretariat of the Young Progressive Party, YPP, has observed with great displeasure the continuous leadership crisis in the Abia State chapter of YPP.
It advised Uzodinma Nwoko, who was recently appointed as the acting Chairman by the SWC, to stop parading himself.
It advised that the status quo before the crisis should be maintained pending the outcome of the ongoing intervention.
In a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary of YPP, Egbeola Wale Martins, the YPP said the embattled State Chairman, Mr. Uluocha Nelccin Chiemezuo, who was suspended last week by the SWC, remained the recognized Chairman of the Abia State chapter.
The party vowed to take ‘extreme measures’ against concerned stakeholders if they continued to ignore YPP national body’s cautions.
“The Young Progressives Party is not a lawless political party and we condemn in strong terms the current leadership crisis rocking the party in the State as the National leadership will not hesitate to take extreme measures to restore sanity if persistent cautions are ignored by concerned stakeholders”, the statement said.
Ekweanaedo News recalls that Mr Uluocha Nelccin Chimezuo was recently suspended as the YPP State Chairman in Abia State for accepting to work as the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Umuahia North LGA Chairman, Victor Ikeji.
