Olakunbi Adene, a 54-year-old caterer and mother of two, was found brutally murdered in her residence in Akure, Ondo State, just four days after celebrating her birthday.
Her body was discovered in a pool of blood on her bed, leaving her family and community in shock.
Adene’s husband, Dele, described her death as a “rude shock” and expressed frustration that no arrests have been made.
He urged the police to track her phone and investigate the building’s dwellers, who seemingly did not notice the incident.
The deceased’s daughter, Tejumade, also confirmed the murder, while the Ondo State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, acknowledged the incident and stated that an investigation is ongoing.
The community is left to grapple with the senseless killing of a vibrant woman who was full of life during her recent birthday celebration.
The case highlights the need for increased security measures and swift justice to ensure that such heinous crimes do not go unpunished.
