Rivers State Police Command has captured a woman Blessing Nweke, who bathed her husband Ekelediri Nwokekoro with hot oil over a dispute.

In a previous report by newsmen, it stated how the housewife perpetrated the devious on Tuesday in Okehi, Etche Local Government Region of the State.

While being paraded at the central command along Moscow Street, Port Harcourt on Friday, the suspect admitted to have perpetrated the grievous action.

While being interrogated, she told the media that her husband recently started behaving strangely, this also made him an accomplise to a crime along with his friends.

She also narrated that they started having  subsequent arguments when she tries to discuss his new behaviour and how he was connected to the crime

She explaines, “He will go out at about 2 o’clock in the night and will come back early in the morning. Sometimes he would go, and stay two or three days before coming back, I kept asking him of where he always go?

“”So his friend called me and inquired as to whether I heard what was on the ground, I was surprised and enquire ‘what he meant,’ He said “my husband and certain people were engaged with one unlawful deal”. He said they called someone from Abuja that the individual should come and work in Etche, and that they have an agreement to provide for the individual and when the individual came they tricked the individual of N20 million.

“He never mentioned it to me so I was hearing this for the first time. It dawned on me how he kept planning on how to travel to an unknown African country.

“So when he came back that day, I rushed to  him to confirm what I heard but he refused and we had another heated argument. I enquired what he did with his own share of the money. I heard some people bought land with their own, so what did you use your own to do?

“As we were arguing that morning over the issue, he punched me, upon running into the kitchen, I grabbed the oil and I dumped it on him. That was how I poured hot oil on him.”

She, however, denied the allegations that she was involved in extramarital affairs prior to the incident.

She pleaded for mercy, saying she did not know her actions would result to this.

“I feel bad. Had I known that this thing would turn out like this I would not have done it to him. I will just go to my place and stay. I am begging for Nigerians, you people should forgive me”, she added.

Meanwhile, the Rivers State Commissioner of Police, Emeka Nwonyi assured citizens that the suspect would be prosecuted and will not be free without serving the  consequences of her action.

I can guarantee you that the law will find her and anyone who attempts to bring law into their hands, will be made to confront the vital sentence,” Nwonyi said
