Vardy Marks Return With Goal As Leicester Hold Tottenham

Jamie Vardy scored on his return to the Premier League, helping Leicester City secure a draw against Tottenham Hotspur at King Power Stadium.

The thirty seven year old Vardy, nodded in Abdul Fatawu’s cross to cancel out Pedro Porro’s first-half opener for Spurs.

Tottenham dominated the first half, with summer signing Dominic Solanke missing several chances on his debut.

However, Vardy’s equalizer brought Leicester to life, and they could have won it late on, but Guglielmo Vicario denied the former England striker.

The draw leaves both teams with a point, but Spurs will be frustrated after their dominant first-half display.

Leicester, meanwhile, will be pleased with the point, especially given their injury woes and potential points deduction looming.

Vardy’s goal showcased his enduring quality, and he will be crucial to Leicester’s bid to stay up this season. Tottenham, on the other hand, will look to new signing Solanke to provide a clinical touch in front of goal, but he too was guilty of missing opportunities on his debut.
