Former gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Valentine Ozigbo, has declared his intention to run in the 2025 gubernatorial election in Anambra State. In a press chat, Ozigbo expressed his concerns about the current governor’s performance and outlined his vision to bring positive change to the state.
During the press chat held in Anambra, Ozigbo highlighted his dissatisfaction with the achievements of Governor Chukwuma Soludo during his first two years in office. Ozigbo stated that his decision to run for governor was motivated by his belief that he can offer a more effective approach to governance and restore hope to the people of Anambra State.
Expressing his commitment to listening to the people and implementing superior recommendations, Ozigbo emphasized the importance of a governor who connects with and serves the interests of the people. He criticized what he perceived as an autocratic leadership style and stressed the need for accountability in governance.
Regarding the issue of zoning, Ozigbo pledged to adhere to the zoning arrangement and serve only one term in office. He emphasized that while zoning is important, competence should not be compromised in the selection of a candidate. Ozigbo advocated for a balance between zoning principles and the pursuit of the best candidate for the position.
“I believe I can do better,” Ozigbo stated. “We must not let our aspirations fade, especially after the events of the 2023 election. It is time for us to collectively strive for positive change and shape a better future for Anambra State
