The Managing Director, Anambra Water Resources Management Agency, Mr. Ikeobi Ejiofor, has expressed the current Government of Anambra State commitment to revitalizing the state’s water systems.
He said, “Allocations have been made in the budget by the Governor for the refurbishment of water facilities in Onitsha, Obizi, Otuocha, Awka, Nnewi and other communities in the state”.
Ejiofor also addressed the ongoing disputes between the Anambra State Government and the employees of the former water corporation, noting that a dedicated committee has been established to audit the existing workforce, identify retirees, and reintegrate those who wish to return.
He further mentioned that the Executive Council has sanctioned the restoration of the rural water infrastructure, which is currently in progress, emphasizing the goal of long-term viability.
”This move signifies a deliberate effort to resolve longstanding issues and improve water services for the residents”, he concludes.
