A Karu Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja, has remanded two men, Kabiru Shehu and Ali Rabiu, for allegedly impersonating military men.
Shehu, 37 and Rabiu, 24, were arraigned on a two-count charge of conspiracy and impersonation, but both pleaded not guilty.
The prosecutor, Mr Olarewaju Osho, told the court that the defendants were arrested on Jan. 16, at midnight, by a team of policemen from Karu Police Station.
“The team arrested the defendants while on a special raid on black spots.
“The offences contravened Sections 133 and 132 of the Penal Code
The police team recovered military camouflage caps and T-shirts from the defendants.
The prosecutor said the defendants could not give a satisfactory account of themselves and the uniform.
The Judge, Mr Aliyu Alhassan, ordered that the defendants be kept in Keffi Prison until Feb. 22.
The judge held that the remand was to enable the conclusion of investigations into the case.
