Trade Union Congress( TUC ) on Tuesday morning, barricaded the entrance gate to the federal ministry of finance Abuja, protesting over unpaid allowances.
Our correspondent who was in the ministry at the hour found it hectic gaining access to the building, with TUC members – all adorned in red jackets armed with placards calling for payment of their owed allowances.
Although union leaders and demonstrators declined to speak directly to the media, placards displayed during the protest highlighted grievances related to outstanding financial entitlements owed to staff.
“Every time they bring protest here. Let them go to the villa now”, a staff of the ministry told EkweAnaedo, A senior staff with the ministry who came down to speak with the protesting TUC members was tuned down. They insisted they will only listen only to the Minister, Mr.Wale Edun.
