The Anambra State Tricycle Owners and Riders Association is urging Prof Chukwuma Soludo to establish Security Monitoring Units across the state. This is to address the rising incidents of tricycle theft, particularly in urban areas.
The Chairman expressed his concern about the unacceptable attacks and killings of their members. While acknowledging Prof Soludo’s efforts in improving security, he emphasized the need for additional measures to tackle the activities of these unknown criminals.
During a gathering at the Regina Caeli Park, Awka, the Chairman of the Tricycle Owners and Riders Association of Nigeria, Anambra State, Hon. Prince Collins Ozojiofor, passionately appealed for action.
The event was held to pay respects to Mr. Chinweike Nwaigbo, a 37-year-old member who was tragically shot dead while on duty in Awka.
The Chairman assured the public that the Association’s leadership in Anambra State is committed to combating these hoodlums.
They plan to register tricycle operators in the State capital and Awka South, providing them with security codes for easy identification.
Any tricycle without proper identification will be apprehended and handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.
