Oba Town witnessed a momentous occasion today as the People’s Mayor, Hon. Amaka Obi, commissioned a state-of-the-art solar-powered borehole project. The ceremony was attended by esteemed guests, including Cabinet Members, Traditional Rulers, and stakeholders of Oba Town.
Upon arrival, Mayor Amaka Obi was warmly received by Rt. Hon Uche Mmaduekwe, President General of Oba Town, Engr Anthony Uzor Ejiofor, and other party stakeholders. The Traditional Ruler Elect of Oba Town, HRM Igwe Engr Sir Chinedu Emelobe, was represented by the Traditional Prime Minister, Chief Sir B.M Onyeka, who extolled Mayor Amaka Obi for delivering a solar-powered borehole, emphasizing its importance to the community.
In her address, Mayor Amaka highlighted Governor Soludo’s achievements, including the construction of five General Hospitals in the Anambra North Senatorial Zone, massive road projects, and re-structured security architecture. She called on the people of Oba Town to support Governor Soludo’s re-election bid, emphasizing the need to generate over 40,000 votes to strengthen their bargaining power for government projects.
The Mayor also addressed the Oba-Umuoji-Oraifite-Akwu-Ukwu road project, assuring the people that the project is in the pipeline and has reached Governor Soludo’s desk. She emphasized the road’s economic importance and its potential to boost transportation and goods movement.
Other speakers, including the President General of Oba Town, Engr Uzor Ejiofor, APGA State Assistant Treasurer, Rt Hon. Uche Mmaduekwe, and the Oba Town Women Leader, Lady Adaife Chizoba Ngozi Onwuka, lauded Mayor Amaka Obi for keeping her promises and commended Governor Soludo’s visionary leadership. They also joined the call for the people of Oba Town to galvanize votes for Governor Soludo in the forthcoming election.
