Anambra State Directorate of the National Orientation Agency,( NOA), yesterday, took to strategic places in Awka and environs as part of her activities to inaugurate it’s nationwide sensitization programme on the National Value Charter and New National Anthem in the area.
Addressing the mammoth crowd that assembled at the popular Arroma junction in Awka in the course of the programme, the Anambra State Director, NOA, Mr Edozie Ajaegbu, said that the present government in the country, under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has initiated favourable policies, geared towards holistic alleviation of the people’s abysmal problems in the country.
He highlighted some of the policies to include, the student’s loan scheme, presidential compressed natural gas(CNG) initiative, economic reforms, social welfare initiative, energy sector reforms and infrastructural development,among others.
He added that the above mentioned policies were designed to better transform the key sectors of the country and socio- economic status of great percentage of Nigerians.
“One of the key highlights of this sensitization programme is the introduction of Nigeria’s new National Anthem and the National Values Charter which were carefully crafted to reflect the aspirations, dreams and values of modern Nigeria”,he said.
Also, at Nkwo Amaenyi, the Deputy Director Administration, Barrister Ifeoma Chijioke, noted that the Anthem is more than a song, but a rallying cry for every Nigerian to contribute positively to the growth of the nation.
“It is a reminder that regardless of our differences in culture, ethnicity or religion that we are bound by one identity- Nigeria”,she hinted.
At Jerome Udoji Secretariat, Awka, the Deputy Director Programmes, Mr Remigius Obi and the Assistant Director Programmes, Mr Ignatius Obiorah, urged Nigerians to embrace the present winds of change in the country with enthusiasm under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration in the country with a view to shaping the future of the country for better.
“Every Individual has a role to play in shaping the future of Nigeria.Together,we can build a nation we can be proud of,a nation that stands tall in the comity of nations”, they harped.
