Thierry Henry has stepped down as manager of the France Under-21 team after leading them to a silver medal at the 2024 Olympics.
He expressed his pride in the team’s achievement, saying it was “one of the greatest pride of my life”.
Henry had been in charge since 2023 and was expected to remain until after the 2025 European Under-21 Championship.
However, he has decided to leave the role, with the France Football Federation saying they “obviously regret” his decision.
During his tenure, Henry led the team to a successful Olympic campaign, winning four of six matches with the Under-21s and eight of 11 games with the Olympic team.
He also helped France finish top of their group and reach the final, where they lost to Spain in extra time.
Henry’s playing career included 123 caps for France, scoring 51 goals.
