The APC South East Zone has officially suspended its members in Enugu State, including Hon Ginika Tor, a Federal Commissioner representing Enugu State in the Federal Character Commission. The suspension was a result of alleged anti-party activities within the zone.
In a press statement issued by the party’s Zonal Chairman, Dr. Ijeomah Arodiogbu, Ginika Tor was accused of not only engaging in anti-party activities but also forming a factional group within the party.
Ginika had previously been suspended by the Enugu State Chapter of the party for the same offense, and now her suspension has been ratified by the zonal chairman.
According to the statement, the decision to suspend Ginika Tor was based on the report of the party’s disciplinary committee and other factors, including certain publications that were issued by Tor. These publications aimed to bring the party’s leadership into disrepute and public ridicule.
The zone highlighted that Ginika Tor’s creation of an illegal faction violated section 21:2 of the party’s constitution.
“We hereby confirm the suspension of Ginika Tor from the All Progressives Congress by the executive of the Enugu State APC, based on the evidence against her,” the statement concluded.
