French side Olympic Marseille have secured the services of Danish midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Tottenham on an initial loan deal for the 2024-25 season.
The agreement includes a permanent transfer obligation worth around £17 million
Hojbjerg’s tenure at Tottenham saw him make 39 appearances last season, but with only 10 starts under his belt, it was clear that he was seeking a fresh challenge. With his contract set to expire in 2025, Spurs opted to cash in on the talented midfielder rather than risk losing him on a free transfer.
Marseille, under the guidance of new manager Roberto de Zerbi, has been on a recruitment drive, bolstering their squad with the additions of Mason Greenwood from Manchester United and Ismael Kone from Watford.
Meanwhile, Tottenham have strengthened their midfield with the signings of Archie Gray from Leeds and Lucas Bergvall from Djurgardens.
The transfer marks a new chapter in Hojbjerg’s career, and fans of both clubs will be eager to see how he performs in the upcoming season.”
