Southampton Football Club has announced the signing of two Brazilian players, Welington and Juan, from Sao Paulo.
The deals will be finalized in January when their contracts with their current club expire.
Welington, a 23-year-old left-back, has had an impressive career with Sao Paulo, making 150 appearances and winning two major titles – the 2023 Copa do Brasil and the 2024 Supercopa do Brasil.
He has also represented Brazil at the under-23 level.
Juan, a 22-year-old forward, has scored eight goals in 80 appearances for Sao Paulo and has played for Brazil’s under-19 team.
Both players have agreed to personal terms and signed pre-contracts with Southampton, who will welcome them to St Mary’s in January. The club is preparing for their Premier League campaign, which kicks off on August 17 with a match against Newcastle.
