Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo has undertaken to do some major interventions at the Uli Campus of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University.
Governor Soludo who was speaking during his one day work visit to the campus in Ihiala local government area, made major commitments to the institution including re-connection of electric power to the community and campus, provision of internet access in public spaces within the campus, gradual construction of internal roads within the campus, among others.
The Governor who commended the orderliness of the school environment, stressed that education is the foundation and bridge to the future, as being deliberately done by his government to build a human capital that is productive at home and exportable abroad.
He added that to do this, the Public-Private-Community-Partnership framework can be deployed because everyone has a role to play, calling on the community to step up support for the institution as well.
Earlier, the Acting Vice Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Prof. Kate Omenugha appreciated the Governor’s visit and support, emphasizing that if Uli campus is propelled, it may become another Japan of Africa.
The Commissioner for Education, Prof. Ngozi Chuma-Udeh commended the Governor’s laudable initiatives in the education sector and canvassed for more support for his government to succeed.
Chief of Staff to the Governor, Mr. Ernest Ezeajughi, member representing Ihiala Constituency One at the Anambra State House of Assembly, Barr. Jude Ngobili and his Ihiala Two counterpart, Hon. Golden Iloh, the Mayor, Ihiala Local Government Area, Anayo Orjiakor, among others, attended the event.
