Simon Ekpa, the self-proclaimed Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government In-Exile, has pledged to defend Amaka Patience Sunnberger, a Canada-based Nigerian woman who sparked outrage with her threats to harm Yoruba and Edo individuals.

Ekpa made this statement on his official X account, urging Sunnberger not to panic and offering legal support from the Biafra government.

Sunnberger’s video clip on TikTok, where she made the threatening remarks, prompted the Nigerian House of Representatives to request her prosecution.

The lawmakers wrote to the Canadian government, seeking action against Sunnberger for inciting violence and genocide.

Ekpa claimed that Sunnberger’s threats were a result of long-term bullying and spiritual murder by the Nigerians she threatened.

He stated that the Biafra government will provide legal services if needed and criticized those who disowned Sunnberger, saying they have been banned in Biafraland.

The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM) has taken up the case, with Chairman Abike Dabiri-Erewa confirming that the matter is being addressed.

NiDCOM had earlier written a petition to the Mayor of Brampton, Canada, regarding the incident.
