The Anambra State Association of Town Union (ASATU) has sadly recorded the deaths of at least seven President Generals in the state under similar circumstances.
The most recent incident occurred in Umuoji Community, Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra. The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the killing and assured that investigations are ongoing to uncover the truth and identify the perpetrators.
No arrests have been made yet, but the police are actively working with the locals and have deployed officers to the area. The deceased’s body has been recovered and taken to the morgue.
These tragic incidents add to the list of President Generals who have lost their lives in Anambra in recent years.
Some notable victims include Chief Ike Okolo of Obosi Community in Idemili North LGA, Chief Paul Chinedu of Nanka Community in Orumba North LGA, and Mr. Francis Onwuachi, the President General of Omor Community and chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Onitsha branch.
