Senator Simon Bako Lalong, representing Plateau South Senatorial District and Member of the Committee on Tertiary Institutions and Tetfund, assured Nigerian students of the National Assembly’s commitment to passing legislations that safeguard their interests and enhance the quality of education. This assurance came during a visit by the National Association of Computing Students from the University of Jos.Senator Lalong highlighted the government’s focus on improving education in Nigeria and the welfare of students under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership. He mentioned that the Senate is actively working on the Student Loan bill and other initiatives aligned with the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda for the education sector.Encouraging the students, Senator Lalong emphasized the importance of prioritizing their studies and utilizing Information and Communication Technology for entrepreneurship, empowerment, innovation, and self-development. Additionally, he expressed his intention to unveil plans for supporting students from his constituency, particularly at the Federal Polytechnic Nyak, Shendam, Plateau State.Tola Mapis, President of the National Association of Computing Students, University of Jos, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to visit the National Assembly and interact with Senator Lalong, acknowledging his impactful leadership as a former Governor of Plateau State and a distinguished member of the Senate.
