The Senate on Wednesday observed a minute of silence for the peaceful repose of the soul of the late Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah CON, who passed away in London while attending his son’s graduation ceremony.

Speaking during the emergency session at Senate plenary, Senate President Senator Godswill Akpabio GCON, expressed sadness over the demise of the late Senator, whom he described as his personal friend over the years.

He stated that the Senate will also hold a tribute session for the late Senator Ubah when the Senate resumes plenary in September.

The Senate leadership, comprising the President of the Senate, the Deputy President, the Senate Majority and Minority Leaders, as well as other senators like Senator Osita Izunaso, later hosted the late Senator’s staff members in the Senate President’s office. They took turns to express their sadness over the unfortunate incident and assured the delegation of their commitment to supporting the family during these trying times and also during the burial ceremony.
